The River Dove runs through an exceptionally beautiful part of the Peak District. Beresford Dale lies in the upper reaches, just outside Hartington and some miles North of Dovedale. The Dove is one of the Peak District’s famous trout fishing rivers - this stretch being particularly iconic because it is a beat historically owned by Charles Cotton who hosted Izzak Walton. There remains Cotton’s fishing hut on the West Bank (in private hands).
